The two days conference covered 35 technical papers submitted by experts in water and sanitation field from the Arab region and worldwide, the working papers were chosen out of 100 submitted to the Scientific Committee and selected very carefully. The conference provided also a broad technical presentation and policy-based program; one session dealt with the “Core Elements of Cost Recovery-Perspective of Development Banks and Financing Institutions” which were organized in cooperation with the German Development Bank (KFW), World Bank and European Investment Bank. Other sessions tackled Water Resources and Sanitation Technology, German-Arab Experiences, in cooperation with the German Water Partnership (GWP). The International Water Association (IWA) session addressed the topic Performance Based Contracts (PBC) in the Water Sector.
